This policy explains how Acreline Ltd ("we", "us", "Acreline") collects, uses and protects your personal data when you use the Acreline app, buy or rent our hardware, or join our waitlist. We are the data controller for the purposes of UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
Acreline Ltd is a company registered in England. Our products comprise the Acreline mobile app, the Acreline RTK hardware kit (sold and rented), and this website. You can contact us about any privacy matter at hello@acreline.co.uk, or via the early-access form on our website.
When you join the waitlist or reserve a kit: your email address, and whether your interest is the app or the hardware kit.
When you use the app: your account details (name, email), the project and site data you create (measurements, plans, photos, notes), and basic technical/usage data needed to run the service and sync your data across devices.
When you buy or rent hardware: your name, delivery/billing address, contact details, and order/rental records. Card payments are handled by our payment provider, Stripe — we do not store your full card details.
Location data: the app uses GPS/positioning to provide its core surveying function. This location data is used to deliver the service to you and is stored within your projects; it is not sold or shared for advertising.
Project data you enter into the app (including any client names, addresses or site details) is stored to provide the service to you and sync it across your devices and team. You are responsible for having a lawful basis to record any third-party (e.g. client) information you enter. We process it only to deliver the app's functionality on your behalf.
We rely on: contract (to provide the app, and to fulfil orders and rentals), legitimate interests (to run and improve our service and contact reservation holders), consent (for waitlist marketing, which you can withdraw at any time), and legal obligation (for tax and accounting records).
When you reserve a kit, we record your reservation and any deposit. Deposits are fully refundable up to the point of dispatch. We keep order, rental and deposit records for as long as needed to fulfil the contract and to meet our legal and tax obligations. Your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 are unaffected by this policy.
We share data only with service providers who help us run Acreline, under appropriate agreements. These include our database and hosting provider (Supabase), our payment provider (Stripe), and email delivery services. We may disclose data where required by law. We do not sell data or share it for third-party advertising.
Your data is stored with our database and hosting provider, Supabase. Where data is processed outside the UK, we ensure appropriate safeguards (such as UK adequacy or standard contractual clauses) are in place.
We keep account and project data for as long as your account is active. Order, rental and deposit records are kept as required for legal and tax purposes (generally six years). Waitlist emails are kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them.
Under UK GDPR you have the right to access, correct, delete or port your data, to object to or restrict processing, and to withdraw consent. The app provides account deletion and data export. To exercise any right, email us at hello@acreline.co.uk or use the early-access form on our website. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
We use industry-standard measures — including access controls, encryption in transit, and row-level security on our database — to protect your data. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to safeguard your information.
Acreline is a professional tool and is not intended for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top reflects the latest version.
